STORY ABOUT HIM
In the Catholic Church, the Sacred Heart of Jesus is the devotion referred to the heart of Jesus Christ, as a symbol of divine love. Devotion to the Sacred Heart had its origin in a mystical current centered on the person of Jesus Christ, who conceived the heart as a vital center and expression of his dedication and total love. In this sense, devotion to the Sacred Heart refers in particular to the feelings of Jesus, and especially his love for humanity.
In the Roman rite, the liturgical celebration of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a solemnity (1st class feast in the classification of Pope John XXIII) and is celebrated on the Friday after the second Sunday after Pentecost. The entire month of June is, in some way, dedicated by Christian piety to the Heart of Christ.
WHEN DO WE PRAY HIM?
We pray to the Sacred Heart of Jesus for trust in times of stress, bring peace to the soul and settle the spirit. For relief and release in Times of Loss or Betrayal. Help to forgive, give the grace to let go of bitterness, a desire for revenge, and the need for an apology. Wisdom to overcome addictions and when your health is failing.
PRAYER
O most holy Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore you, I love you and will a lively sorrow for my sins. I offer you this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient, pure, and wholly obedient to your will. Grant, good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you. Protect me in the midst of danger; comfort me in my afflictions; give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs,
your blessings on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death. Within your heart I place my every care. In every need let me come to you with humble trust saying, Heart of Jesus, help me.
Amen.
