Our Lady of Guadalupe Rose

HAND PAINTED PLASTER STATUE – 9 Inches High & 3 Inches Width

Date of apparition: December 9, 1531
Location: Tepeyac Hill, Mexico

STORY ABOUT HER
Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared in a vision to an indigenous man named Juan Diego who was a convert to Christianity from paganism. Her words to him were “Trust in me: I am your mother”. On her first apparition she requested that a shrine be built on the spot where she appeared.
On her second apparition She ordered Juan Diego to collect roses and upon opening his cloak dozens of roses fell to the floor revealing the image of Mary imprinted on the inside of his cloak. Pope John Paul II later declared Our Lady of Guadalupe as the patroness of the Americas.

WHEN DO WE PRAY HER?
We pray to Our Lady of Guadalupe for pregnancy, those in poverty, justice, racial equality and equality for women. Our Lady of Guadalupe’s feast day is December 9.

PRAYER
“Most merciful mother, you came to tell us of your compassion through St. Juan Diego, whom you called the littlest and dearest of your sons. Give your strength and protection to all who live in poverty today, especially the young, elderly, and vulnerable.
Plead for them to the Father, that they might experience the Divine Love in their daily lives, and that all who work for justice on behalf of the poor might grow in fortitude and humility. May we always know the peace of being in the cradle of your arms, and bring us safely home to your son, Jesus. Amen”.
